We paid a deposit for an elevator modernization. The owner, Joseph, represented that an elevator and control system had been ordered, but multiple vendors later confirmed to us that no purchase orders existed .
He stated in writing that the deposit would be returned, but it has not been. We later discovered other customers who reported similar experiences.
Documents provided to us as purchase orders were confirmed by the named vendors to be invalid. In addition, required CAT1 AOCs were not filed, which resulted in approximately $9,000 in DOB fines at the property.
Based on our experience and what we uncovered, we would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before doing business with this company.
Our Rockaway Beach NY condo switched to Big Apple Elevator for maintenance about six months ago, and the improvement has been impressive. They prioritize service over up-selling and our elevator now runs smoothly and consistently (a huge change from years with large corps like Kone and Otis). It’s refreshing to work with a company that takes pride in what they promise and we are extremely pleased with their expert level service, communication and response times. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a reliable elevator maintenance and repair service provider they can trust.
Elevators were no longer a stressor for me after I reached out to this company. Great service. 5 stars.
A unmitigated disaster of company ... completely incapable of finishing an installation of an elevator on time or on budget. Created a financial disaster for our small condo project as their failure resulted in us not being able to get a certificate of occupancy on time and then our buyers dropping out. NEVER EVER use this company for a new installation or servicing if you want to sleep well at night.
