Zenith Moving NYC May 27, 2026
by Melina Virdone

They exceeded my expectations . I am a clean freak OCD person moving into the home we took two years renovating, so as you can imagine I wanted a white glove service. New walls, new floors and I wanted to keep it spotless through the whole moving process. They understood the request and followed to the teeth. My house has front steps and stairs, my furniture was super heavy and the move in process took 4 days - two trucks and two Pods containers to unload. And day after day the Zenith team showed up in time and with good spirits and took care of all from packing to unpacking and all in between, everything flawless, not one mishap or any issue. I am very happy with their service. Do not hesitate, call Vlad or Kiko or Dominick, ask for Paco and rest assured your moving will be done by a team of experienced professionals that put a lot of pride in their work.

Man With A Van May 12, 2026
by Zara Chaudary

Had a stressful moving day where all of my stuff couldn’t fit with my original movers so I requested Man with a Van to come get the remaining items. Alfred and his team showed up and were so friendly, accommodating and flexible and really made my very stressful day much less so. They were so fast and I was able to book same day, within just a few hours. They were also able to get me a COI for my building within an hour. Highly recommend!!!

Frequently Asked Questions about Movers & Moving Companies

Local moving costs in NYC typically range from $100 to $200 per hour for a crew of two, plus truck fees. A studio apartment move runs $300 to $800, while a two-bedroom costs $500 to $1,500. Get binding estimates from multiple movers on New York Lists.
Check that the mover is licensed and insured (NYC DOT license for local moves). Read reviews on New York Lists, ask for a binding written estimate, and confirm there are no hidden fees. Avoid movers who demand large cash deposits upfront.
Book at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance for local moves, especially if moving at the end of the month or during summer peak season (May-September). For last-minute moves, some companies offer availability with shorter notice but at higher rates.
Most moving companies offer packing services and supplies (boxes, tape, bubble wrap) for an additional fee. Some provide free quotes for packing materials. You can save money by packing yourself and having movers handle only the heavy lifting and transport.
Reputable movers in NYC provide basic valuation coverage (typically 60 cents per pound). For valuable items, purchase full replacement value protection or check if your renter's/homeowner's insurance covers moves. Discuss insurance options when booking.
