I had such an amazing experience in Maggie Murphy’s Open Barre class at PMT Dance last week! It was actually my very first ballet class, so I was definitely nervous walking in, but Maggie created such a welcoming, supportive, and encouraging environment from the start.
She was incredibly kind and patient, and I really appreciated her hands-on corrections because they helped me better understand the movements and feel more confident throughout class. As an adult beginner, I never felt intimidated or out of place. The atmosphere was so warm and positive, and you could tell she genuinely wanted everyone to succeed and enjoy themselves.
I seriously could not stop talking about how great the experience was afterward — all my friends kept asking when Maggie is teaching next because of how much I was raving about the class! We’re all keeping our eyes open for when she’s back on the schedule. Highly recommend taking her class if you get the chance!

I have felt welcomed from day one, I have met so many friends at the studio, and the faculty are all amazing dancers and teachers who are truly invested in your growth as an individual.
I also love the performance opportunities and the tight-knit community feel of the studio, which can be hard to find in adult drop-in studios.
✨ Would recommend to both absolute beginners and pre-pro/professional dancers, looking for affordable high quality classes and a supportive studio community
Mariana and Jung.el give excellent house. Hip hop, contemporary popping and Street Dance are also exemplary. Staff i know what they are doing.
Friday night House Head Sessions time you up with an old club feel. Easy to get to. Recommended
Extremely disappointing experience.
I arrived at the studio after spending more than an hour on public transportation, excited to take the class, but the receptionist on Wednesday at 6:00 PM refused to let me in just because I was a few minutes late. I completely understand studio policies, but there was absolutely no empathy or kindness in the way she handled the situation.
There were other classes after the hip-hop one, yet she didn’t even offer me the option to join another class or suggest an alternative. Instead, she was dismissive and cold. After all the effort it took to get there, being treated like that was very frustrating and disrespectful.
Customer service and attitude matter — especially in a place that’s supposed to be about community, movement, and joy. I truly hope management addresses this, because no one deserves to be treated that way after showing up with genuine effort and enthusiasm.
I have 1-2 years of dance experience and their beginner contemporary workshop was too fast-paced. I don’t see the point why they call it “beginner” when it is more akin to “beginner advanced.” Which they have a different class for. Teacher also called me out during class when I was discreetly trying to ask a student if I was in the correct class. And didn’t appreciate being split into groups of two to dance with barely any instruction prior as to the moves we were doing.
