I went to the dermatology specialists for the second opinion and I was glad I did. The MD dermatologist Dr Layal Antoury was fabulous. She made me feel at home, I told her I have anxiety disorder, her whole presence put me at ease including her assistant. She did a biopsy and I feel much better now that that's over with then I did with the first dermatologist I went to whereby I only saw a PA, not even a dermatologist. I strongly recommend the dermatology specialists at Union Square and especially recommend doctor Antoury ! By the way and for what it's worth I'm sure the other doctors are also very good.
Run away from this place! Good PAs BILLING IS TOTALLY UNREACHABLE. They sent an incorrect bill in August 2025. They never picked up the phone when my insurance company or I called repeatedly. I sent emails and texts and stopped by the office to no avail.. I complained to the BBB. This is ridiculous. I recommend that you never step foot in this office.
I wish I would have read some of the Google reviews before booking an appointment. I had the same bait and switch experience another user did 8 months ago.
I received a confirmation text several days before my appointment, so there was plenty of time for their AI or a live admin to call me and tell me that Dr Buka is does not take appointments at the Union Square office. I didn't find this out until I arrived for my appointment. I was told he doesn't come to the Union Square office and asked if I wanted to see another doctor. I said, No.
I make doctors' appointments because I need medical help. I dig around the internet as best I can to find a doctor that I believe can help me, so seeing a random doctor I know nothing about is not something I am comfortable doing.
If I had the same experience as someone 8 months ago and am told by staff that there is a glitch in their system to allows appointments with Buka to be booked at the Union Square office, I take it as a reflection of their patient care.
Are all Dermatology Specialists offices this way? Or is it just this one office?
Extremely unprofessional office. I booked my dermatology appointment 5 days prior and shared my insurance details when making the appointment. I have fidelis care and zocdoc showed this provider accepted it. I submitted the intake form and resubmitted my insurance info 24 hours prior to the appointment, receiving confirmation that I was good to go.
10 mins prior to the appointment I received a phone call which went to voicemail because I was on the subway on the way to my appointment, telling me that my insurance actually isn’t accepted.
When I got to the doctors office they said I would have to pay out of pocket to proceed.
This information should have been conveyed significantly sooner, extremely disappointed by the poor service.
I just saw Dr. Antoury and she exceeded my expectations. This was my first full body, skin check, and I went into the appointment, extremely anxious. Dr. Antoury Not only eased my anxiety But performed a very thorough skin check that made me feel reassured and calm that everything was fine. I had to have one mole removed and biopsied, and she did so with minimal pain that I felt. I have already recommended her to several friends and will be going back on a yearly basis without the anxiety that I would’ve had.
