The 620 Loft & Garden is an amazing rooftop garden and one of the most revered attractions of the Rockefeller Center.
The Rockefeller Center was built and founded by John Rockefeller Jr, a prominent member of the Rockefeller family. The center is currently owned and operated by real estate firm, Tishman Speyer.
Located on the rooftop of the British Empire Building of the Rockefeller Center, the 620 Loft & Garden was designed by Ralph Hancock, one the most influential landscape architects and gardeners of the 20th Century. Hancock successfully designed and developed all five of the rooftop gardens that are located at the Rockefeller Center and he did so between 1933 and 1936.
Today, the 620 Loft & Garden primarily functions as a premier intimate rooftop destination. Its major features include a beautiful manicured year round garden, a serene reflective pool with a bubbling fountain, an indoor loft with large windows and its location provides extraordinary views of Midtown Manhattan.
The 620 Loft & Garden is frequently used for weddings, fashion shows, product launches and musical performances. It has been featured in numerous films such as Sam Raimi’s 2002 film, “Spider-Man” and Marvel’s Netflix series, “Daredevil.”
In April of 2026, I brought and treated my wife and myself for the VIP Rock Pass of the Rockefeller Center to celebrate our Happy Relationship Anniversary!!! One of the perks of the VIP Rock Pass is a premium guided tour experience of the “620 Loft & Garden,” which we both enjoyed and found exciting and fun!!!
Both my wife and I were captivated by the beauty and tranquility of the garden, and were delighted to see the breathtaking views of 5th Ave, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Radio City Music Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the surrounding skyscrapers of the Rockefeller Center!!! Our tour guide, Matt did a great job on providing a concise overview of the 620 Loft & Garden and took superb pictures of us in this gorgeous oasis.
When traveling to New York, we highly recommend for everyone to visit and explore the 620 Loft & Garden, a truly magnificent and outstanding one of a kind destination!!!
