I had such a good experience during my 2 week course at the American Bartender’s School!
I did the evening classes with Bryan and felt super supported and encouraged, gaining knowledge for an industry vet. Courtney at the front desk was also super welcoming and helpful!
Being 19, I was very nervous at first but the structure and contents of the class helped me feel prepared when it came time to pass my exams. This program was both rigorous and rewarding, and the effort you put in really pays off. I believe you are absolutely getting your moneys worth as far as hands-on learning, certification, and job support after graduating. I also love that I can come in and practice any time!

What I liked most about this school is how practical it is. They don’t waste time with fluff or unrealistic expectations. You learn how to pour, build drinks, talk to guests, and keep your cool when it gets busy. The instructors were clearly experienced and gave feedback that actually helped. By the time I interviewed for my first bartending job, I felt confident instead of nervous, which made all the difference.
I had an amazing time doing my 2-week course here! One of the instructors, Bryan, was a great patient teacher who really knew his stuff. Everyone at the school is very friendly and welcoming, shoutout to Courtney at the front desk for being a delight! The curriculum seemed very flexible (I only took the night classes), and the classes were very well organized and felt professional. I was surprised at how rigorous the testing process was, and I definitely felt like I learned a lot-- the end result felt very rewarding. I heard you can do this stuff online, but I personally prefer learning in person, making connections, and the tuition did not feel over-priced or a 'scam'-- they truly have so many resources at their bar and they even let you come back afterwards at any time to use it just for practice. For those worried about the value, I'll say this: You get out of it what you put in.
I just completed my two week training. I was really skeptical of being able to remember SOOO many cocktail recipes; however, the instructors (I had Dillon, Bryan, and Lou throughout my two weeks) do a really great job presenting the material, giving you tricks to remember recipes, and providing feedback. The program allows for many hours of practice and unlimited visits for life. In addition, the fellow classmates help each other, quiz each other, and simulate both the speed tests we have to take, as well as pretending to be customers while we practice. I'm a little sad that I'm now done with the program.
This school is a 10/10 for those who’ve been wanting to expand into bartending but are too scared of learning all the materials and tools. Everyone from teachers to classmates are so kind and helpful! I specifically really liked Brian and Dylan who run evening classes, they’re amazing and patient teachers who guide you through every single step and never make you feel dumb for making mistakes, just correct because they genuinely want to see you do your best. If you’ve been looking for a sign to stop hesitating and sign up already, let this be it!!! Will definitely recommend!
