DJ Dre Smith was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! From the very first conversation, she listened attentively and truly collaborated with us every step of the way. She matched our energy perfectly and made the entire planning process feel smooth and enjoyable.
Her music suggestions were spot-on and really helped everything flow seamlessly. She went above and beyond to help us find the absolute perfect first dance song — it was exactly what we were looking for and brought so many happy tears during our dance!

My partner and I got married on Saturday 5/2/2026 and our DJ was Austin—we adore him so much and he did such a fantastic job! Everyone at our wedding noticed his calm and warm energy and he made everyone feel so comfortable showing off their dance moves.
When we met Austin, he asked so many good questions about music and our relationship to it is as individuals and a couple. Our personal favorite was when he asked about songs we had inside jokes to. He always approached us with acceptance and kindness and never made us feel judged.
Austin also had a specific vibe to match as we had emo, ska, rocksteady, punk, broadway, and pop fans of different age ranges all in one space for our big day. Not to mention A LOT of musicians in the room.
He didn’t disappoint, he covered a lot of decades, all of our requests and could really read the room energetically! We also loved that he encouraged people to “nourish themselves for dancing” when he made food announcements. It made everyone feel taken care of. Austin worked so well with our venue. He made sure my partner and I were on the dance floor for the last song and it meant so much.
Beat train can also provide a Photo Booth! Our attendant was incredible and funny, and the photos were fabulous. This is such a great vendor!

Selecting Beat Train Productions to find a DJ for my event was one of the best decisions I gladly made. I was truly satisfied with their professionalism and service. Austin Peete was my amazing DJ for my 57th Birthday celebration and wow, it truly was a wonderful experience! From our very first conversation, I had a feeling he was the right choice. He really took the time to understand the vibe I wanted and was so thoughtful and collaborative throughout the process.
What I especially appreciated was how much care he put into the music selection. He wanted to know the songs I absolutely wanted to hear, and together we created a mix of Caribbean music, Afrobeats, classical selections, and ’80s music. It was a unique combination, and somehow he turned it into something that felt seamless, joyful, and honestly so magical.
He brought great energy, professionalism, and ease to the entire experience, and that allowed me to truly enjoy my celebration. He helped create an atmosphere that felt fun, stylish, warm, and memorable. I’m so grateful I chose to work with him, and I would absolutely book him again without hesitation.”
The Beat Train Productions team was stellar. Julia and Jake were accommodating and communicative. They were totally cool with us talking on lighting to our contract a week before out wedding.
Our DJ Joel Ortsman killed it! He was super professional leading up to the event. He provided us with a lot of helpful insights on what kind of music to go with for each part of our wedding. He even did a custom edit for our first dance song based on my notes and sent it to us for review ahead of time. If you like old school house and hip hop he is your guy!

We had a great experience working with Mariko as the DJ for our wedding last month, and wanted to write a review and overview of the experience.
As part of the preparation, we filled out a thorough questionnaire about the event / musical choices and reviewed it in a zoom meeting well before the wedding. She was very organized (both in planning and on the wedding day), which helped a lot since we didn’t use a wedding planner. Our music selection was eclectic, but she knew exactly the vibe we were looking for, and everything fit together and flowed seamlessly. Her announcements at the wedding were also perfectly timed and appropriate. Her DJing really took the wedding to the next level and made it such a memorable and perfect day. We couldn’t be happier with Mariko and we recommend her 100%. Hopefully this helps anybody looking for a DJ in the NYC area.
