We chose California Closets to give us more storage space in our new apartment. Our designer, Nataliia, was very experienced. She took measurements and recommended a flexible design. After sitting on it for a day, we suggested slight changes to give us less hanging space and more shelves for general purpose storage. There was no problem to change the design. And we had updated specs to see our changes before accepting them.

We are very impressed with the quality of the material, we love the color we chose, and the installation was flawless. I'm one who cleans often, so I had a first hand look as I prepared the closets before filling them. I found no damage or markings, there were no parts that didn't fit right, nor were there any other imperfections. A job well done.

While I wish the prices were a bit more affordable, I can say that about most things I purchase these days.

I contracted California Closets for a $25,000 closet installation in a luxury high-rise in Central Park South area. Nearly three months later, serious wiring safety issues among multiple other major design defects remain unresolved.

The lighting overheats and cannot be switched off without tape, unit cutout and electrical outlet are misaligned making the outlet inaccessible, inset doors were used when a seamless look was requested, and there are large visible gaps measuring up to 2 inches (2") on each side among other issues including wall damage.

25+ emails, texts, and phone calls, but promised repair teams are never sent, and the company continues to demand full payment during an active dispute. I was even pressured to submit the remaining balance before year-end despite unfinished and unsafe work so they could “close their books.”

I would strongly warn anyone considering a project to look elsewhere.
