The only good non-profit around these days it seems, and that's pretty sad. Good food, responble, friendly staff and true to their mission. I'm 62 and have survived HIV/AIDS since diagnosed in October of 1990. Amazing and blessed. And from the beginning, GLWD has stepped-up for people in my circumstances. Thank you, GLWD. And my delivery guy, Rummel, couldn't work harder or be any more friendly then he is. Love the guy, and not an easy job. Thanks, Rummel. Special organization, my friends. For example, a personalized birthday cake on your birthday and special Thanksgiving meals delivered on Thanksgiving morning (!) by volunteers who care are really classy things to do for people like me who struggle and are alone on the holidays. I highly recommend and advise all that can to support. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY 2026! Live in the Light and avoid the hate. Jeff
This organization is truly one of the best for the vulnerable and marginalized. Everyone you talk to at the organization is absolutely the kindest they can be. There are many times that I would’ve been without food and literally starving without this organization. I am eternally grateful. The food is well prepared, heart healthy, and tastes good. It’s so easy to heat up as well.
God's love we deliver as long as your insurance pays for it. God doesn't charge money. It should be called God's love we starve you to death. The portions are fit for a child. Half of the food is put through a blender. They make the food taste good though. Come on your getting donations and money from insurance companies you can make the portions bigger.
What they do is beyond.... feeding thousands who we don't even see because they are homebound and forgotten. Incredible heart. Give to God's Love We Deliver to feel better for knowing you've help to feed someone hidden from your sight, and the world.
Can't talk about the quality of the food, i volunteered for delivery with one of their drivers and i had a good experience, driver was really talkative and put effort into it being a good experience for me, explained how to do the deliveries, what to do if the person wasn't there, etc. Not being from new york and being a woman I felt a bit uneasy riding with a stranger and going to maybe not the safest neighbourhoods, but it was okay, i think wearing the sticker with the organisation's name on my sweatshirt and being in the van with the logo makes it better as neighbours know you are delivering food for people who need it (but be aware that you will go to neighbourhoods like the bronx, so if you're not comfortable with that, maybe join food making shifts). Driver said not many people volunteer for this task anymore so i encourage you to do your research and consider this option :)
