I recently attended Ken Goshen’s 5-day oil painting workshop, and it was an incredible experience! It was my very first time working with a live model, and Ken made the process both exciting and approachable. He is not only extremely knowledgeable but also enthusiastic, generous with his teaching, and inspiring to learn from.
The week began with a guided tour of The Met, where Ken introduced us to the Masters’ techniques and it was a perfect way to set the tone for the days that followed. From there, the workshop was a balance of sketching, painting, and hands-on learning that deepened my understanding of oil painting in ways I didn’t expect.
I’m still at the beginning of my artistic journey, but this experience gave me the confidence and tools to keep growing. I’ll definitely continue learning from Ken as he has a gift for showing us how to do it right!
I take weekly classes with Ken and just completed an art workshop with him as well.
The workshop was incredible and I learned so much. Ken is truly the best teacher I have ever had. He's not only A wonderful artist but is so good at explaining things while also making the classes fun and inspirational. I am so grateful I found him.
Ken is hands down the best teacher I've ever had. After years of studying with some of the most highly respected teachers in New York, I leveled up with Ken in the first month. His ability to understand just what each individual student needs to do to improve, and the generosity and kindness with which he provides that information, is a true gift. I feel so lucky to be able to study with Ken in person!

Ken is an incredible teacher! He makes learning drawing and painting super accessible, fun, and interesting. If you’ve ever wanted to learn artistic skills, I would highly recommend working with Ken. Everyone in the class gets individual attention from him, making it easy to correct mistakes and improve your skills in a streamlined, efficient way. The studio is clean, organized, and set up so that everyone has a clear view of the model or subject that is being drawn/painted that day. The classes are perfect for all skill levels, whether you’re a total beginner or an advanced artist. Definitely check it out!
