We stopped into Les Gateaux de Marie while in NYC and absolutely loved it. Such a cozy little bakery with the sweetest atmosphere. You can immediately tell the owner truly loves what she does and puts so much passion into every detail.
Everything we tried was amazing. The latte, coffee, cupcake, and crispy heart were all so good. We sat down for a few minutes to relax and honestly just enjoyed being in the space. The bakery is beautifully designed and feels so warm and welcoming.
One of my favorite parts was seeing the photos of the cakes she has created over the years. You could really feel her creativity and passion through everything in the shop. Everyone there was incredibly kind and helpful, and it ended up being one of those little places that makes a trip feel special. So glad we found it. Everything was affordable! We will be back!
Just wow! Made an amazing cake for my daughter’s 7th birthday. It was adorable and so tasty, the adults came back for seconds. Thank you for incredible service and patience in finding the perfect design to make my daughter’s day.
Marie did a magnificent job making a special birthday cake. She perfectly executed complicated orchid flowers and a newspaper front page. She really went out of her way. My guests were bowled over. And the cake was one of the best I've ever tasted.
The cake was absolutely delicious and beautifully done! I was amazed of the red velvet cake that we ordered because there’s nothing that compares. Whether it’s a slice or a whole cake this place is a must go to for every event. The customer service is amazing from “in store” to the “delivery service”. Most professional service from start to finish💗 This is a one stop shop.
I have been a guest at many weddings and sampled quite a few pieces of wedding cake, but the cake that Maria at Les Gateaux de Marie prepared for my wedding three weeks ago was without a doubt the most extraordinary one that we have ever eaten.

But before it became the final course at our post-ceremony wedding dinner, my wife and I must have come into the bakery five or six times, each time with a new request: Make it bigger. Add marzipan. Less chocolate and more mocha. Add another tier to the cake. Deliver it to this address. And to each change, Marie was receptive and not in the least taken aback by the flurry of alterations. Where else can you get this kind of customer service?
I’m pretty sure that there are a number of places in Manhattan where you may order a wedding cake. And plenty of them will even be good. But Les Gateaux de Marie is a unique and exceptional bakery, and we recommend them without hesitation. Oh and even if you’re not in the market for a Custom wedding cake, they offer a variety of European and American cakes and pies and desserts and pastries. It’s the best thing on First Avenue!
