I cannot recommend Phoebe’s Mac Repair & Data Recovery enough.

I thought my MacBook Pro was completely doomed after I accidentally put it in my backpack with a water bottle and it ended up with water damage. The keyboard stopped working, the trackpad wasn’t functioning, and although the computer would turn on, it was clearly not usable.

Like most people, the first place I went was the Apple Store. I was shocked when they told me that just replacing the keyboard would cost $750, and if they discovered internal water damage the price would automatically jump to $1,500. At that point I honestly felt like my only option was to buy a new computer since my MacBook originally cost around $2,000.

Before giving up, I did some research and saw that Phoebe’s Mac Repair & Data Recovery came highly recommended. Even though I live about an hour away, I decided it was worth the drive to at least get a second opinion.

They offer a free diagnostic and a free estimate, which immediately made me feel better about bringing it in. After taking a look at my computer, they explained that the damage was limited to a specific part of the circuit. The great news was that my keyboard and trackpad could both be saved.

The total repair cost ended up being about $600.

When you think about it, they essentially saved me about $1,400 because I was ready to replace the entire laptop. Even better, my MacBook is now working like new.

What impressed me the most was their honesty and professionalism. They could have easily told me I needed more repairs, but instead they fixed exactly what was necessary and charged a fair price.

If you are having issues with your Mac, I highly recommend checking with Phoebe’s before spending a fortune at the Apple Store or replacing your computer entirely. I definitely learned my lesson and I am incredibly grateful I found them.

They also provide 6 month coverage on their repair work if anything happens, except for new water damage of course, which gave me even more peace of mind.

Due to my own idiocy I had a lid dent and completely cracked screen on my M3 MacBook Air. Tony gave me a quick (and free) diagnostic. The quote was on the lower end of what I was expecting, even though they had to special order a part and completely replace the chassis. I exercised the option to leave with the laptop while I waited (for a $50 down payment). The part arrived in two days and it took less than an hour to install, per estimate. The staff's communication is excellent, and if I (hopefully not) need another repair I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Steve was SO beyond incredible to work with. If you ever find yourself in a bind, this is 100% the place to go.

He not only recovered all of my corrupted files—while preserving the quality of my photography images—but also went above and beyond to ensure I met a tight deadline. He uploaded the urgent files to Google Drive, provided a new hard drive to save me time, and handled everything in-house with professionalism and care.

Truly outstanding. I can’t recommend Steve and his team enough!
