Rose Hill Montessori of Manhattan

RoseHill Montessori is truly special. The teachers come from wonderfully diverse backgrounds, yet share a common thread — they are deeply caring, remarkably hands-on, and endlessly creative.

The arts and crafts program is simply the best we've seen — creative and simple, using nature and household objects in fun ways. Every day there are 3-4 new stations with teachers at the tables working actively with the children. This is the opposite of unsupervised dramatic play!

The outdoor situation exceeded our expectations. Coming from a preschool with neighborhood walking trips every few days, we thought we'd miss that — we don't. They have two private outdoor spaces so the kids get meaningful time outside every single day, even between bouts of rain.

It's a quintessential Montessori experience combined with NYC artistic energy. The mix of warmth, imagination, and intentional learning makes it such a stimulating place for our little one. She loves it.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience in Rose Hill Montessori under Craig Schatten. He has created a wonderful playful and heartwarming experience for our youngest kid. Always a lot of fun, music and joy. Before Rose Hill we had mixed experiences with daycares in New York, but once we found this place we never looked back. We even kept our daughter in Rose Hill when logistics would have been easier moving her to a Pre-K in the same building as her older brother - simply because she is always so happy going to and returning from Rose Hill. She’s also had a tremendous growth in terms of skills and self-confidence for the two years she’s been in Rose Hill. Apart from Craig also a huge thanks to the teachers who are all very caring and engaging with the kids, with a particular shout out to Miss Asia who our daughter talks non stop about. If we could only stay in Rose Hill forever. Warmest recommendations.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Rosehill Daycare. I’ve been absolutely thrilled with how well my son is cared for every single day. The staff go above and beyond they’re incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children.

This is a wonderful school! Our son has been at Rose Hill for ~2 years and it has been incredible to see how the teachers have helped him grow during this time. The teachers are so creative and kind, and have provided a warm and nurturing environment for all the children. The school is a perfect size and has its own private playground, wonderful indoor activities and play/learning spaces. Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend Rose Hill Montessori for anyone looking for a nurturing and enriching environment for their child. My 3-year-old baby girl attends this school, and we’ve had a wonderful experience.

A special thanks to Mr. Craig, Mr. Robert, and Miss Taniya—such amazing teachers who are kind, patient, and truly attentive to each child’s needs. Their dedication really shows in the way children feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn every day.

The Montessori approach is beautifully implemented, encouraging independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. I’ve seen wonderful growth in my daughter’s confidence, social skills, and creativity.

The environment is clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed for hands-on learning. Communication with parents is also excellent, which gives great peace of mind.
