I'll be honest: I put this off longer than I should have. We have a 128-year-old home in Brooklyn, and the chimney had been on the list for years — one of those problems that feels theoretical until it isn't. What finally moved it to the top was a carbon monoxide warning from a detector we'd almost stopped trusting. Turns out we should have trusted it sooner.
Mike's crew came out, scoped the liner, and delivered news that was bad but not surprising: original terracotta, completely deteriorated, packed solid with decades of debris — animal nests, rubble, material I won't describe in detail. The boiler and water heater had nowhere to vent. The liner wasn't just failing; it had already failed.
What impressed me wasn't just the diagnosis. Other contractors had given me versions of the same picture, usually accompanied by a quote designed to make me feel I had no choice but to sign immediately. Mike's team was different. They explained the scope of work clearly, priced it fairly, and treated the job as a straightforward repair rather than an opportunity. The work was done on schedule. The stainless steel liner they installed is built to outlast anyone currently living in this house.
Since the repair, the difference has been noticeable. Staining on interior walls that we'd been chalking up to age and moisture has stopped. The Nest Protect hasn't triggered once. There's a quality to the air in the basement that's hard to articulate but easy to appreciate.
Old homes reward patience and punish neglect. This was a case where I'd been patient a little too long. Mike corrected that efficiently, professionally, and without making me feel foolish for waiting. Highly recommend — especially if you have an older home and haven't had your flue inspected recently.

They were great! Very professional from the first contact. Mike gave a quote bases on some pictures ( i used a camera stick from a porch)that I emailed. I got a written with in 24 hours. I did have to add some additional repair work that was not seen in my original pictures but the quote was very reasonable. The workers were timely and courteous. They provided me with up close pictures before and after so I could review the work. I highly recommend and would use them again
Mike is incredible. We have a major renovation of our house that required us to extend our neighbor’s flue. Mike was courteous, prompt, efficient, cost effective, and was an excellent diplomat with my neighbor. Would highly recommend
Specifically, he installed two flue liners: one for a fireplace and one for a gas furnace. There were two extensions and two fans installed, WiFi switch on the fireplace fan and an automatic relay which turns the fan on with the furnace.

We worked with Mike and his team to install an electric fan in our chimney along with an wi-fi enabled switch. We found the team to be incredibly responsive, friendly, helpful and efficient.
