The US Branch was initially established to operate as a Property and Casualty reinsurance company, and then as a direct insurance company through MGAs between 1987-2000. In the early 2000s, the Generali Group began expanding its Multinational portfolio, and the US Branch began servicing the US risks of the Group’s Global Corporate & Commercial clients. The Branch closed its MGA business and became licensed as a domestic insurance/reinsurance company in all 50 states and territories for all major business lines.
