I think this school gets a bad wrap from these reviews. The teachers are actually pretty supportive and lenient if you actually decide to put in a little bit of effort into your education. The community in this school is pretty strong and the events here such as the plays and musicals, winter carousel, random movie nights, and the thanksgiving feast are done yearly and done pretty well. Plus, the school has a heavy focus for the arts and does give it an identity compared to some of the other schools in this building. Also, the teachers do have this drive to push you to peruse a further education or to actually know what you’re doing with your life after high school. Overall I believe this school is not the worst thing in the world as most of these reviews would have you believe.
I'm glad I stayed the 4 years at LoMa, because the community here at LoMa is irreplaceable. The school is small which allows for a closer relationship and personal connection between teachers, staff, and classmates. I don't feel afraid to talk about my concerns in academics but also my concerns in my personal life with teachers, classmates, and even principal. Principal Lowy is very passionate about LoMa after entering its doors. He's very considerate and understanding of feedback on my schedule, adding programs and extracurricular activities, and he's overall a very fun principal.
As a senior who's been here fully for the four years, I can say that the school definitely changes you as a person. The teachers actually do care if you ever actually want to succeed later on. The Visual arts program is filled with one of the most creative people I've ever got to meet and the creative freedom to access was so amazing to have! Honestly the people here always try their best to support you and especially for college!!! I'm very glad to be here
This is a bad school since dr. Wenk (old principal) left the school and now there's barely any activities for us to do all the extracurricular actives are limited. I find it really hard to make friends especially in this school so you know u might feel a little lonely.
