Came on a Friday night/ Saturday morning and it was completely not what i expected but it was still a good time.
I came during after hours like 3am. There was a doorman trying to charge us $10 at the door,
then he reduced it to $5 because he knew he was being ridiculous trying to charge 1 hour before they closed.
Ultimately i didnt pay because someone else invited us in who was already inside. When we got inside it was great vibe. Dancehall/ Reggae and afrobeats was played and people were actually dancing and enjoying themselves. Not sure if i’ll return because of the unreasonable doorman but it was cool.
This is a fantastic place to get an authentic experience of Harlem. Saturdays are better than other nights. Have various bands performing in each night, good selection of drinks and a very lively vibe. Do yourself a favour and order some food too as this was unexpectedly super delicious.
Hole in the wall music venue with a solid food menu. Ordered a veggie burger and nachos. Prices were kinda high for the kind of place but food was good. Music was great.
17 bucks each drink pay by cash: Afro Trip and Mango Mojito. They are not good. We should have gone with beer. Afro Trip is simply a mixed of beer and rum blended with too much ice and Mango Mojito is too bitter since they just squeeze all the lime hard with the outer skin. The music is neutral, nothing special. Sometimes the band do not sound harmonized... It was Sunday night so maybe the line-ups are not the best. The saving only saving point is the decoration and the vibe.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Live music like no other venue, I used to live Spanish Harlem and the neighborhood. Great vibes and cocktails, I really like that they served a variety of dishes for the range of price. I enjoyed the fish and chips, coleslaw was great too. 'Talk ya Talk' happening up in Harlem on a Tuesday night only a $10 cover!! They have rare artistic designs featuring African heritage and showcasing good artists for open mic. I will be back to sign some bars another day. Definitely a place to have some drinks and enjoy good time. Great staff, very friendly.
