Giving this a 2 star only because as new adult swimmer, the instructors were great and made me feel comfortable the very first class and within the first 15 mins I was already floating. Instruction is great but service is TERRIBLE.
Here was the issue. I found this place on google and saw some good reviews and decided to give it a shot. I go on THEIR website and followed the process to buy a 4-class group plan. The price THEIR website gave me for the group class was $279. After paying, I saw there was no way to even schedule my classes (first red flag). So, I reached out to their team and asked for help with scheduling. All I asked for was help scheduling my 4-class plan. The person that helped me schedule my classes gave me a list of availabilities. I chose my classes and went on my way. I show up my first class and there’s other people there swimming so I’m not thinking any of it. I do my lesson. Then I do the following 2 lessons after. The day before I was to take my 4th and final class before I planned to renew, I get a text in the same message thread from the person handling the schedules saying that I owed Danswim money, an additional $160 and they were cancelling my class and until I paid up because I booked and took “private lessons” and it cost more. At NO point did I ask for or purchase private lessons. After buying my group plan and asking for help scheduling my classes, I just showed up at the times they scheduled me for. What was clearly their mistake, they tried putting the blame on me and tried getting me to pay more. After I showed receipts and confirmations of my plan and what I asked for and highlighting their errors, only then did they try to backtrack and admit their wrongdoing. I let them cancel the class and I found a new school to learn from. If you decide to purchase a class, be careful on what you purchase and how they handle your classes so you don’t have to go through what I went through.
A big thank for all Danswim team for making possible for me to be able to float and swim. I have been afraid of the water while my life. My biggest fear was any water where I couldn’t touch the bottom and definitely not putting my head under. After lessons with Chris my life has changed. Swimming is a slow joyful and relaxing and became a part of my routine. As a non swimmer I did not expect to feel confident swimming. Chris made it seem easy and I felt comfortable in the water. Thank you Dan to being so flexible and helpful with the schedule, Chris , Mark - you r the best. Thank you guys- you r amazing.
I’ve tried many different programs throughout the city. Nothing beats Danswim and his team. Wish them nothing but success in their business and personal goals. This program is literally tailored to you and your abilities. They move at your pace and comfortability. It is a must try.
I took four classes with Danswim and was very satisfied with the quality of instruction. I found Christopher to be a particularly great and patient instructor.
Unfortunately, I am writing a negative review because the business charged me for three lessons that I properly canceled on their website in accordance with their cancelation procedures, failed to timely refund me, and then, when I caught the issue while auditing my credit card bill, refused to refund the money. While I am filing a chargeback with my credit card company, this is extremely scammy and unethical behavior and I urge everyone doing business with Danswim to carefully audit refunds for canceled classes.
I used the online booking system on the Danswim website to book all of my classes and canceled three bookings (within the cancelation window) in order to reschedule to a better time/my preferred instructor on the same day as the canceled class. I discovered later that the booking system did not automatically refund my credit card. When I discovered that the charges had not been refunded due to an error on Danswim's end, I reached out to Dan and was told that he only issues refunds within two weeks - after that only a credit can be provided. He was unwilling to waive this policy despite that the issue arose on his system (did not timely issue a refund) and insisted that he could only offer a credit, which is not of use to me. This is totally unacceptable and future clients should be aware.
Dan is a great instructor! Very dedicated and professional. I love to see the happy eyes of my 5 year old son who is getting stronger, more confident and looking forward to new activities.
