We worked with Travis on two projects—a custom built-in bookshelf with a hidden desk and a custom armoire desk—and couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, Travis was incredibly collaborative. He took my vision and elevated it with thoughtful details I never would have considered, like custom lighting, extra outlets to keep cords hidden, and added touches such as sleek handles and soft-close drawers.
The installation process was just as impressive—Travis was meticulous about protecting our floors and making sure every detail of the finished pieces was flawless. Beyond his craftsmanship, he’s simply a joy to work with: kind, professional, and clearly passionate about what he does. We had been dreaming about a customized built-in solution for the entryway area to our home for quite some time before I reached out to Travis to see if he could help us design and build something unique. Like most NYC apartments, we weren't working with a ton of space so needed to think creatively about how to design something that would suit our needs, fit the space, and look nice too. We were looking for shoe storage, general drawer storage, additional bookshelves, and especially a small sitting bench which was desperately needed as place to sit down to put on shoes. We also wanted it to have a little bit of "quirk", thus the inclusion of a fun peg-board hanger situation. We ended up with all of the above and a set of furniture that we love and use everyday.
Travis and Chelsea were super collaborative at editing and adapting our original vision, responding promptly to my extremely detailed questions and requests, and overall being super communicative and easy to work with (and wonderful people on top of it all). There was a hiccup in terms of the measurements of one of the storage units that Travis and his team handled it with grace and professionalism, which was super appreciated. If anything, Travis was super patient and accommodating with the sometimes slow feedback on my end!
During install, Travis was extremely conscientious about being careful and thoughtful about installation, careful not to damage anything, making sure everything had a clean finish and was functional and fit. He and his team cleaned up thoroughly after each day of install (especially since we have a 1-year old running around, it was important not to have any sharp/dangerous objects around!).
It's clear that Travis loves what he does, is super invested in the craft of woodworking, and enjoys working on bespoke projects that require creativity and ingenuity. If you're looking for something special and unique, Travis is your guy. Even if you're looking for something more straightforward, I have no doubt that he would do a stellar job.
