I was introduced to Erfun through a friend who found him via his outstanding reviews, and he more than lived up to them. Erfun is a highly effective and no-nonsense tutor who is exceptionally good at diagnosing exactly where you are weak and focusing his time there. His approach can feel like tough love at times, but it is always intentional and results-driven. He is extremely organized, assigns structured homework, and comes to every session with a clear plan. Classes typically begin with a concise review of relevant theory, then quickly shift to doing problems, reviewing homework or practice exam mistakes, and diving deeper into areas where you need the most support. He explains concepts clearly and logically, sends thorough notes after sessions, and uses more challenging LSAT reading comprehension and critical reasoning questions to train your thinking so the GRE feels more manageable by comparison. Erfun knows exactly what his students need and pushes them to get there efficiently. I would highly recommend Erfun to anyone who understands their weaknesses and is looking for focused, disciplined drilling in those specific areas.

Erfun is hands-down the best GRE tutor in NYC. He's written a book for McGraw Hill, he has a perfect score, and his abundant experience is evident in how he tailors the tutoring to perfectly suit your needs. He identified weaknesses and inefficiencies in my approach that I wasn't aware of (even after working with another tutor), and he cleverly curated the HW in a way to help me get past these weaknesses. Because of him, my GRE score went from 310 to 332!
