I cannot recommend Matt at Proven Prep enough. Working with him has been an absolute game-changer for my GMAT preparation. After enrolling in a Manhattan Prep course, and failing to get above a 700 on any of my practice tests, I knew I needed one-one-one help to reach my target score. That's when I started working with Matt. From the outset, Matt took the time to thoroughly analyze my practice test performance, identifying my strengths and weaknesses, and using this information to craft a comprehensive study plan tailored to my needs. This plan was rigorous yet flexible, allowing me to maximize my tutoring sessions as well as the time in between. Throughout the 2 months of working with Matt, I always knew what I had to do and what the deadlines were. His methodical approach, combined with his energy, patience, and positive attitude, made every session enjoyable and productive. Matt's personalized approach was a breath of fresh air compared to Manhattan Prep. His ability to create a work plan with clear deadlines and identify focus areas allowed me to study more effectively.

I would recommend Matt to anyone who is taking the GMAT. I studied for 3 months before working with Matt and the highest I got on a practice test was 650. After working with him for only a month I scored a 770 on the official exam. He has an extremely comprehensive strategy on how to take the test and best methods of studying. Matt identified that I was struggling with Critical Reasoning questions and introduced me to the Proven Prep methods for Critical Reasoning. After working with Matt, I went from getting 50% of the Critical Reasoning questions correct to a perfect score on Critical Reasoning and a 46 overall on the Verbal Section. I’ve struggled tremendously with Verbal and he really was able to turn it from a struggle to a strength for me.
In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, the best part of Matt is he will partner with you and genuinely cares that you get the best possible score. Matt will work extremely hard with you and goes above and beyond the expectations for a tutor. I’d highly recommend Matt to anyone looking for help on the GMAT.
I started studying for the GMAT at the beginning of November 2021. I took my 1st official practice test and bombed it (6 quant and mid 30s verbal score). I found Matt through Reddit and he helped me immensely. Over the course of the few months he created a tailored study plan for me that helped me identify my weaknesses and helped me address my time management issues.
As great of a tutor as he is, he might be an even better coach. When there were setbacks in my progress, he helped me keep perspective. I've always been a bit of an anxious test taker but Matt's guidance really helped build up my confidence and I'm happy to report that I got my target score on my first attempt (V41, Q47 overall 710).

After taking a course through Manhattan prep, I started working with Matt & Proven Prep, immediately seeing results after just a few of our sessions together. Matt's personalized study plans and overall strategy for tackling the gmat really pushed me to achieve the above 700 score I was looking for. He helped me play up my strengths and taught me tips/ tricks to quickly improve in the subject areas I was struggling with. He has a unique methodical approach to each problem type that they did not teach me in my Manhattan Prep course. Overall, I could tell Matt really cared about my success and continued to work with me, personalizing my study plan, until I achieved my goal score and was admitted to both schools I applied to - NYU Stern and UCLA Anderson.
I had a great experience with Matt after struggling with 2 or 3 other tutors on my GMAT journey. I needed the most help on the quantitative section and after a few sessions with Matt, I saw my score finally jump into the 40s. His study plans were thoughtful and tailored, exposing me to the right amount of variety to keep my skills sharp. Even though I thought I was set on the verbal section, Matt was still able to help me with a few really useful tips to cement a more consistent high score.
