Kerby’s was such a refreshing experience. It’s nice to see a small business in such a beautiful part of the city like Thompson St. When I arrived for the first time, they greeted me kindly and were able to help me feel confident in leaving my precious garment in their hands. It is hard to find a tailor you can trust, not kidding. The turnaround was a standard week wait but it can vary depending on traffic.
I brought in a pair of vintage polo wool flannel pleated trousers that needed to be re-hemmed and slightly repaired.
My tailor was Alda, who was so kind and gentle.
She made sure to understand exactly what I wanted and she delivered exactly that!

I was lucky enough to find Kerby’s New York through a google search and I am so incredibly happy that I have finally found an excellent, communicative and thorough tailor and dry cleaner. I have brought a number of items in for alteration, including a variety of dresses and tops (in all sorts of fabrics and styles) and denim pieces, and I am so incredibly impressed with the final product every single time.
The tailoring services are top notch- they take the time to make sure that the garment fits the way you would like and even go above and beyond as to make other recommendations to improve the overall shape and look of the garment. Every item I have gotten back from Kerby’s has exceeded my expectations- they have given me 30% of my wardrobe back and I can finally wear the items that I couldn’t trust other tailoring businesses to alter!
The team is also very professional, communicative and can accommodate quick turnarounds while still charging extremely reasonable prices. I can’t recommend Kerby’s New York enough! I am so appreciative of their team and plan on being a customer for as long as I am in NY!
Kerby’s is SPECTACULAR. I would give ten stars if I could. After taking my maid of honor dress to a previous tailor and not being satisfied with the results, Kerby’s did a great job of quickly figuring out the best way to taper and was able to accomplish it sooner than expected. Thank you so much for the magic and can’t wait to post photos after the wedding! ❤️ a true fairy godmother moment
Kerbys was incredible. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. My jacket came back looking absolutely perfect — like new. You can tell they really care about their work and their customers. Highly recommend.

First time customer- amazing experience! I bought in a pair of vintage Levi's shorts to have replicated out of a pair of vintage Levi' s full length jeans. I was worried that I was going to mess up my full length jeans, but the staff made me feel so at ease and understood exactly what I wanted. Every detail was spot on, including the pleats in front and back. If you have a weird request like this, bring your items here!
