Finding the right therapist can be tough, but Midtown NYC made it feel a lot easier. Jorge Calixto is incredibly empathetic and easy to talk to. You never feel rushed or dismissed. He really meets you where you’re at and helps you work through things in a way that feels manageable. Definitely recommend checking him out if you’re considering therapy.

Dr. Marx is a well-respected colleague who specializes in depth-oriented therapy. It is clear that his relational, in-the-present-moment approach, which involve adept attunement to his patients to meeting them where they are at, is an active ingredient that contributes to effective treatment. His work is process-oriented and involves teaching patients to become aware of and identify their conscious and unconscious emotions and recognize and relate to the psychosomatic presentations of these emotions, with the goal of who they are, who they want to be, and how they can make sense of these two identifies. As part of his work, he also demonstrates a grounding, compassionate presence and teaches his patients to sit with their difficult inner experiences and uncomfortable bodily sensations by doing this work with them in the moment. If you are looking for a relational, compassionate, and attuned therapist with a focus on building appreciation for emotional and psychosomatic awareness and building tolerance in the process of becoming who you want to at your own pace, I strongly recommend working with Dr. Marx.
I know Dr. Jason Marx to be a psychologist of the highest caliber having worked closely with him for a number of years. His knowledge of theory is vast yet he has empathy for people and meets his clients emotionally where they are in the moment..
