Jo and Jenna are the most skilled, kind, patient, and caring providers you’ll ever have the pleasure of working with. I feel so lucky to have them as part of my care team, prenatal, during labor, postpartum, and beyond. They’re the best!!!!
It felt like sitting down with a good friend who also happens to be a doctor (seeing Jo for GYN). I felt heard, understood and supported. It felt like we were a team, tackling my health together. It was just my first visit but I feel lucky to have this in our neighborhood. It also doesn’t hurt that the space is gorgeous and you feel like you are hanging out at a cool friend’s house in BK.
Jo is an exceptional midwife and I feel honored to have had her support through my last pregnancy. I am now seeing her for my annual GYN care and it is above and beyond any other care I’ve ever received. Very detailed, very in depth and just so supportive.
I could write a whole love letter about Jo and Jenna but I’ll try and keep it brief! My care with Nettle Wellness from prenatal to postpartum was absolutely incredible. Every prenatal visit was comprehensive- checking in on the health and growth of baby, but also my own mental and physical well being. It was clear from the beginning that they cared just as much about me, as they did my baby.
Jenna attended my birth and I’ve truly never felt more supported. She is so incredibly knowledgeable, and seemed to instinctively know when I needed support, and when to let me do my thing. I’m so thankful for Nettle and the love and care they showed my entire family: Having them as my providers is one of the best decisions I’ve made!
Also huge shoutout to their admin team!! Doris is AMAZING, and responds to emails faster than my own husband. Their medical billing team is also awesome and helped me get my insurance to cover almost everything.
Jo is an extraordinary midwife and I'm so grateful to have worked with her for my second pregnancy and birth. My first pregnancy, with a midwifery group in Manhattan and a hospital delivery, went as planned but left me feeling nervous about going through everything again. Labor was a challenge, breastfeeding a roller coaster. Right from our first zoom call, I knew I was in good hands with Jo.
I looked forward to each visit because I knew that I would leave feeling calm and clear eyed about each phase of my pregnancy. From the moment that you step into Jo's cozy office, with the comfy sofas, interesting and funny books, and big bowl of individually wrapped snacks, you are taken care of. Everything about her practice is so thoughtful.
As a midwife, Jo feels like an empowering, wise partner in a great adventure. Her passion and excitement about birth is contagious. When I got to near the end of my pregnancy and started feeling nervous about labor, Jo buoyed me. No question or thought felt embarrassing or small. She had spent nine months getting to know me and building a rock solid trust. Her advice is evidence-based, non-judgemental and deeply compassionate.
During birth, Jo was calm and encouraging. She had prepared all of her equipment and supplies weeks before and gave me a big bag to keep at home. She also tells you everything you need to have on hand for labor and postpartum. When labor started, it was so seamless and relaxed because Jo had already organized everything. A night and day difference from rushing to the hospital!
The postpartum experience has also been extraordinary. Jo is a gem and I can't recommend her highly enough!
