John and his painters were without a doubt the most accommodating, meticulous, and considerate painters I've ever hired in 20-plus years of living in NYC, and I've hired lots of painters. I had a special job with some specific parameters, and John took the job so seriously. The job was immaculately done and they were cleaned up and out of our house on the precise day they promised. Highest possible recommendation.

We hired Click and Paint to repaint our entire house in Brooklyn, and they did an amazing job. They showed up fully prepared with all the paint supplies β€” rollers, brushes, drop cloths, tape, and even spackle to smooth out the walls. No need to visit Creative Paints or Greenpoint Paint Supply β€” they brought everything and used high-quality primer and paint for a clean, lasting finish. We’re in Bay Ridge, near Sunset Park and Dyker Heights, and finding reliable painters here isn’t easy. We had looked at companies like Heritage Painting NYC and Brooklyn Brushworks, but Click and Paint stood out for their quality and service. If you need residential painting in Brooklyn, don’t hesitate to book them!

Rates vary by trade. Electricians charge $100 to $200 per hour. Plumbers charge $120 to $250 per hour. General contractors add 10% to 20% to project costs for management. A kitchen renovation in NYC runs $30,000 to $75,000+. Bathroom remodels cost $15,000 to $35,000.
NYC requires licenses for many trades including electricians (master electrician license), plumbers (master plumber license), and general contractors (home improvement contractor license). Verify licenses through the NYC Department of Buildings. Check reviews on New York Lists.
NYC requires permits for most construction work including electrical, plumbing, structural changes, and major renovations. Your contractor should pull the necessary permits from the NYC Department of Buildings. Always verify permits before work begins to avoid fines.
Reputable contractors provide detailed written estimates including labor, materials, permits, timeline, and payment schedule. Get at least three estimates for comparison. Be wary of estimates significantly lower than others as they may cut corners or add charges later.
Licensed contractors in NYC typically warranty their workmanship for 1 to 5 years depending on the trade. Material warranties are provided by manufacturers. Get warranty terms in writing before signing a contract. NYC law requires home improvement contractors to provide a written contract.
