I can’t say enough good things about Joe Scerri and his hardwood flooring work. Joe is a master of his craft and an exceptional human being — honest, kind, and full of integrity. The European white oak floors he installed in my apartment are stunning and the quality, attention to detail, and craftsmanship are second to none. Joe goes above and beyond in everything he does, communicates clearly, and is always fair and easy to work with. His prices are very inexpensive for the level of service and excellence he delivers. Joe did an outstanding job replacing our floors in our prewar apartment. He brought to us impressive knowledge of the historical context of floors like ours, with some options about how to proceed in the best way. He also paid personal attention throughout the project and closely supervised his excellent team. It was a complicated two-phase project--due to our own constraints--and he met the timeframes that he originally gave us, which was very important to us, despite a few complications with our sub-floor that he would have had no way of predicting. We ended up with a very high quality job, better than our original, and I would highly recommend Joe and his team. It is unusual to find a contractor with such high standards and commitment to quality.

Joe Scerri and his team did a fantastic job replacing entire floor in my apartment.
We had a flooding in my building and there was a significant water damage.
I feel very lucky I found Joe.
He helped me end-to-end - from how to pick the right wood (and he truly took effort into finding the right type for my space, explaining what to expect from different wood type, how each color will play out etc), to consulting me how to deal with insurance company and coop (so grateful for this, Joe helped me to navigate successful negotiations), how to move and pack the furniture, to the advise on the paint color of the walls.
We went to the dramatic change from original dark wood to light maple.
It was a huge job, which was executed professionally end-to-end.
I can't be happier with the floors, his crew executed and delivered on-time, and the job was done meticulously. It is an art, and Joe is a true and rare master.
No scratches on the furniture, no mess after, all seamless experience. Lighter color worked amazing, I got so many compliments from my guests. Floors also have a laxurious wood filing and energy. It changed the vibe and the feel of my home. Thank you Joe!!

You honestly won’t find anyone better than Joe and his team when it comes to wood flooring in NYC. Joe’s professionalism, attention to detail, and design mentality are superb, and exactly what I look for in a contractor. Before coming to Joe, we were lost in what type, brand, and finish of wood we should choose. We did online research and got samples, but still didn’t quite understand what we needed. On our first meeting with Joe, he explained the nuances of wood with the passion of a man who truly loves his craft and the expertise of someone with three decades of experience. He recommended a beautiful option that has yet to show a scratch after 6 months. It’s really strong wood “with character” that disguises blemishes, which is just what we wanted. Not to mention it’s a US company, sustainably sourced and made without chemicals. The work itself went smoothly, and he always kept us up to date on progress. Joe’s labor rate was quite reasonable (we also did a lot of research on contractors), and he is well known in the UES for his high quality work. I can’t recommend him enough!
