this is a great center with an amazing and friendly learning environment. robert is a gem and maybe the best asl teacher i’ve ever had! will be back for more classes!
I never do reviews without incentives but I love this place too much. Courtney is an amazing teacher and so funny. I haven’t taken classes with other teachers but they are all so friendly. What an amazing place I am always excited to get to. Only issue is that the price is steeeeeep
This place is a great place to begin learning! Although I wish they had higher levels, they do an amazing job with effectively immersing new students into the curriculum. I went there for a few years before advancing to a different program. I would 100000% recommend if you are looking for a place to start learning ASL.
The beginners class was nothing like what was described on the website at the time of booking. Had the course been accurately represented, I would not have signed up. The website stated that we would be learning basics such as numbers and the alphabet, but on the day of the class, we were expected to jump straight into complex vocabulary with no support. The environment was also chaotic and distracting, with multiple classes happening simultaneously in the same space. I decided not to attend the rest of the classes. When I raised my concerns, I was disappointed to learn that they refused to issue a refund.
I have been taking classes at the SLC for about a year and a half and it has been one of the most fun, enriching experiences of my life. Cannot recommend this place, the teachers, the community of students enough.
So many class times offered, even Zoom offerings available (though I recommend in person if it is an option for you), flexible/responsive/kind/compassionate customer service, incredible teachers.
