I moved to Small Door after our long time vet wanted to charge an obscene amount for travel papers a few years ago, and I have never looked back since. Asides from the beautiful premises (no longer a sterile, morbid and sad environment), and excellent technology (your full history and results accessible through the app and on-call vets a text away), the care we have received here has been unlike anything I have ever known. The amount of TIME, patience and compassion their team have has blown me away, time and time again. We have seen several Drs over the last few years and they have all been wonderful, but I have to take a moment to praise Dr Eliza O'Callaghan who became our main point of contact over the last few months of my sweet old girls care. Dr O'Callaghan approached us with focused passion and a diligent devotion to my Indie's care that I would never expect. The amount of time and thought she gave her needs, including long thoughtful phone calls and lengthy, detailed emails sent at all hours, and even squeezing us in for extra appointments after her long surgery days, without any irritation or sense of hurry. And for any cynics thinking $$, Dr O'Callaghan actually talked us out of a very pricy surgery opting for the comfort and well being of our pup instead. They handled Pet Insurance issues for us and fought on our behalf when things weren't covered. This is the best care I could wish for for your fur baby - and the best support for owners too. I will never go anywhere else.
Absolutely love the team of doctors and staff. They always take care of Zoe and offer her the best possible service and peace of mind to me. If you are looking for a vet certainly a place to look into and consider. Today Zoe had a dental procedure and they shared with me pictures while in prep and after anesthesia. All wrapped up and comfy ♥️♥️
I’ve been a Small Door member as long as I’ve had my first pup, Murphy- And I’d never go anywhere else! The staff is knowledgeable & kind, the ambience is comforting & warm, & most importantly, I always trust them! Murphy is always happy to go there, & they are so good with him when he’s sick or scared. I also love the 24/7 answers from the telehealth staff if I ever have a concern. As a first time puppy mom, this place is perfect! Only downside is I wish my own health care could be like this :I
Words can’t express how much we (including Bear!) love SD WV! Our Cavalier, Bear, needs frequent visits, and the entire staff—from the doctors to front desk, vet techs, and telehealth team—are wonderful. They're patient, attentive, and knowledgeable, but most importantly, they truly care for both our pup AND us as first-time pet parents.
When he was going through some unknown health issues, every team member went above and beyond to support us and work toward answers. Their compassion makes all the difference. Thank you, Small Door WV Team!
This was my puppy’s first exam after switching over from another vet. The office is bright and clean and the staffs are so friendly. I do have a membership but given my puppy needs the rest of her vaccines and extra exams, I decided to purchase the wellness plan bundle which I think is worth the price. I love the access to 24/7 telehealth as well and have been very useful when I accidentally thought my puppy swallowed a squeaky toy. They are also transparent with their pricing which is very helpful. Only recommendation I have for this office is to sweep or clean the exam room floors as there were a lot of dog hair from a previous visit.
