Susan was absolutely amazing on our wedding day! She worked with us at the Rainbow Room and captured every moment so beautifully. Susan made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, and the photos are absolutely stunning and truly tell the story of our day. Susan and her team were absolutely amazing to work with throughout our entire wedding process. She was one of our first vendors we had booked for the wedding and we immediately knew we wanted to work with her after our first conversation. She was always willing to answer our questions quickly and provided a vast amount of industry knowledge that helped us through the entire process. Susan was willing to work with us to meet all of our photography and videography needs for the wedding and we have been thrilled with the final products. We had a lovely engagement shoot a few months out which turned out fantastic and helped us feel more comfortable for the wedding. As for the wedding day, Susan and her team were true professionals. They kept us on task for the day and helped maintain a calm energy amongst our large family. It was truly such a great way to go about the day and I will always be grateful. Her whole team was amazing and captured the most beautiful memories in photos and video. They were also great in working with our dog and capturing great moments with him. We received a beautiful set of sneak peeks the day after and quickly received our video and full gallery. The work is spectacular and we cannot stop looking at them. We would recommend Susan and her team to anyone for their wedding!
Having Susan as our photographer and videographer was truly one of the greatest gifts of our entire wedding. Not only is she unbelievably talented - but having someone we love and trust behind the camera brought a sense of comfort, joy, and calmness - to a day that can otherwise feel overwhelming. It honestly felt like having an angel watching over us and just happened to be capturing magic the whole time.
She has this incredible ability to spot the moments that matter most—the little glances, the happy tears, the laughter between the chaos, the quiet pauses that often go unnoticed. When we look at our photos and video, it feels like reliving our wedding all over again, but from an even more beautiful perspective. Every image is full of heart, and every second of the video reflects exactly how the day felt to us: emotional, fun, imperfectly perfect, and full of love.
What we appreciated most was how deeply she cared. She didn’t just show up with a camera; she showed up with her whole heart. She checked in on us, fixed little things that were out of place, kept us relaxed when timelines got tight, and made even the posed moments feel natural and genuine.
We are endlessly grateful for the way she captured our story. These photos and videos are treasures we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives. It means the world that they were created by someone who has been part of our story long before the wedding day, and who will continue to be part of our lives long after.

Where to even begin - hiring Susan as our photographer was the best decision we made during our entire wedding process. There is no one more professional, caring and talented. She is an amazing communicator and got to know us during our engagement shoot so that she could know exactly how to shoot us on our wedding. Day of, she was wonderful. She was polite but in command of our large group. She was so creative with her directions and every single vision came to life perfectly. When we got the sneak peak photos back, we were in tears. We have never felt more beautiful. She captured our love perfectly. We cannot say enough about how amazing Susan is. If you’re getting married, it would be a huge mistake not to hire her! We hired Susan Shek to photograph and capture our wedding on November 5th, 2022 at Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY. Choosing a wedding photographer was one of the most important wedding vendors we focused on. After all, they spent almost the entire day with you. Since they are with you for the most emotional moments of the day, we looked for someone who made us feel comfortable and who would pay attention to every detail. After researching and communicating with many of the best photographers in the NYC area, we hired Susan very quickly after a phone consultation. We were instantly impressed with her website, service offerings, speed in replying to us and the other reviews we had read.
We met Susan in person for the first time during our complimentary engagement session at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Having an engagement session built into our photography package was one of the reasons we gravitated towards Susan. It was a perfect opportunity to get to know one another for a few hours. We had a great time and felt at ease that we would be in good hands once the wedding day arrived. We received our photos so soon after the engagement session- it was the most pleasant surprise. She captured so many special details that we hadn't noticed even occurred. We had so many favorite photos, it was hard to narrow down. As with many wedding vendors, Susan contacted us a month before the wedding day. We gave her all information, requests and details ahead of time to make the day of run smooth. The day of, Susan brought a huge team of photographers and assistants.
Our wedding planner and a few of our wedding guests who are professional photographers were in awe with the team Susan brought and how professional and respectful they were. We couldn't have asked for nicer people to be a part of the entire wedding day. We gave Susan a lengthy list of inspiration pictures and family arrangements. She got every single picture captured. After the wedding, we went on our honeymoon and received all of our touched up wedding pictures less than 4 weeks from the wedding date. We are so excited to work with her on creating albums and printing portraits.
The dynamic with the photographer as a wedding vendor is very different than other vendors. This relationship lasts well after the wedding day. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Susan and hiring her for many more occasions to come when we start our family.
