I had an amazing experience working with Deanne, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. When we first started, my puppy was struggling with separation anxiety, barking, and some challenges on walks (such as eating non-food items). Deanne created a clear, personalized plan that helped us address each issue step by step.
Deanne taught my puppy basic commands (sit, down, stay, etc.), no jumping when greeting people, walking calmly on leash, introduced him to the dog run in a safe and positive way, and gave me the tools to manage and greatly reduce barking that used to happen throughout the day.
What I appreciated most was how patient, knowledgeable, and supportive Deanne was. She not only helped my puppy but also helped me understand how to reinforce good habits and maintain consistency at home.
If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dog behavior and sets you and your pup up for success, Deanne is absolutely the best choice.
Deanne has been incredibly generous with her time and patience as I navigated life with not just one, but two puppies. Before meeting her, I was honestly feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Through our conversations, I learned so much and was able to refine both my approach and understanding of puppy care.
Whether it was arranging puppy playdates, being a supportive sounding board, or even running home from the park in the pouring rain—puppies in tow—Deanne was always reliable, flexible, and accommodating. Her written summaries were especially helpful for keeping me focused and reminding me of our current goals.
We all have our own ways of communicating and doing things, and I truly appreciated that Deanne created space for a therapeutic relationship to develop at a pace that felt comfortable for both me and my puppies. Her support has made a real difference for us.
I can’t say enough positive comments about Deanne.Deanne is a gifted trainer, ethical, and compassionate. She basically saved us from having to pay a babysitter to watch our dog indefinitely . Benny had a very very bad case of separation anxiety. He could tolerate 0 seconds alone before a full out 5 alarm panic attack . When he could do 3 seconds we were so happy. Deanne worked so hard with us so our little guy could learn to be by himself. Now he can do 2 hours.
Deanne is your pets best advocate. As a certified dog behaviorist and a trainer, she makes sure to work with you in order to find harmony and happiness between you and your pet. Deanne is very knowledgeable about human dog dynamics. Our first session went beyond what I was expecting. Deanne came to our home and went through feeding, toys, sleeping arrangements, routines, etc.; all specifically geared to our family and the way we live.
In the next two sessions we concentrated on training. Deanne takes her time with explaining realistic expectations and educating the humans on how to achieve desired behaviors. She was always available to answer additional questions after our sessions, and is a true professional, providing full write-ups afterwards of what you worked on, exercises to do and expectations for follow-ups.
Deanne really listens and works for what is best for you as the owner and your pets well-being and happiness.
I can't recommend Deanne enough. 4 months ago, I adopted a 5-month old puppy who had no prior training and severe leash reactivity to both dogs and people. Through working with Deanne, he now has a strong foundation in training and can walk through busy NYC streets with few issues. He also LOVES Deanne and her training sessions. Her love for dogs is so evident.
Deanne focuses not only on dog training, but also on giving owners the tools they need to continue training in between sessions. She writes detailed summaries with instructions on how to progress further, and I have learned so much about dog training and behavior through her, even as a lifetime dog owner.
Deanne uses a science-backed positive reinforcement approach which has been great in helping my nervous rescue pup build confidence. She constantly continues her learning through research and courses, and her passion for dogs shines through in her training. I feel so lucky to have found Deanne!
