Today was my second therapy session at TULA with Evelyn Yim, and Evelyn was patient, informative and encouraging. I learned a great deal about how the exercises can help strengthen the muscles of even an older person like myself, and I was so pleased that Evelyn took the time to answer my questions and concerns. In addition, her thoughtful emails have been evidence of her listening to me and of a professional caring for her client.
The Tula medical professionals and administrative staff all provide friendly, supportive care. The physical environment is welcoming to both patients and their companions sitting in the pleasant waiting area.
My PT is thoughtful, a good listener, and a creative problem-solver. Her instructions are clear. She modifies exercises to be appropriately challenging and to adapt my session and home exercises to the needs of that day.
I have every confidence in the ability of the Tula team to help me reach my goals.
Evelyn has been so helpful after only one full PT appointment. She is targeting the areas in my lower back which cause me the most pain each morning. I very much appreciate her skill, knowledge of my problem and her therapeutic recommendations.

Definitely a 5-star facility! Tula Physical Therapy & Wellness provides optimal therapeutic care in an airy, open space that feels more spa-sanctuary than clinic. Despite being an active and relatively fit senior (early 70’s), I was prescribed PT by my HSS physiatrist for chronic pain due to spinal disc degeneration and osteopenia. How blessed I was to be assigned Tula’s senior physical therapist MATT LEVE (PT, MSPT, GCFP), a remarkable therapist/educator with over 20 years of experience! Fortunately for me, Matt introduced me to the Feldenkrais Method, the principles of which he integrates, along with those of tai chi, with traditional physical therapy. Matt has provided me with a highly effective combo of synergistic protocols for:1) pain relief; 2) mindfulness/mind-body connection; 3) significant improvement in motion efficiency and posture. I KNOW that the Feldenkrais principle of ATM (Awareness Through Movement) will continue to serve me well in dealing with the inevitable challenges of even-healthy aging. And from an administrative standpoint, Tula is wonderfully client-friendly. The reception staff is very welcoming and knowlegeable… A particular shout-out to front-desk staff member Anders, who is mega-helpful and a wiz at navigating and explaining the daunting labyrinth that is insurance eligibility/billing. BOTTOM LINE: Tula is an all-round superlative provider!
