I am very grateful that CityMd is always available when I need medical care as it takes weeks or months to get an appointment with my primary care physician. Their physicians are consistently competent, empathetic, and reassuring when you need them. The doctor I saw on Friday whose name I don't remember was wonderful and helped me deal with a difficult situation that day .
I had been feeling under the weather for about 10 days so I made an appointment at CityMD to try to figure out what was going on.
The facility itself feels new and very clean and everyone I interacted with was pleasant, but ultimately, there was a massive miscommunication with my care. I was tested for Covid, Flu, Strep A and Mono and the doctor told me everything came back negative. He prescribed me a Medrol Dosepak (which wasn’t really relevant to my situation and has many potential side effects) and suggested that if I don’t feel better in a few days, I should be tested for Lupus or thyroid issues. I found this a little bizarre because I don’t have any relevant past medical history and none of my annual blood tests have ever come back abnormal.
The following day, I signed into my portal to find that my Strep A result actually read “Positive”. CityMD apologized and called in an antibiotic to my pharmacy. On the way to pick up the antibiotic, I realized it was unclear whether the doctor told me the wrong result or whether the result was incorrectly entered into my profile. I called CityMD back and they basically said the fastest solution was to come back in and get re-tested. I confirmed the time I would be back in with the manager, but once I arrived, I found that he had apparently stepped out to lunch.
Once I was seen again, the second doctor confirmed that I was indeed positive for Strep A, but did not agree with the dose of the antibiotic that was sent in for me. I don’t know what’s going on at this facility, but this experience was a complete mess and I’m not confident in the care that they are providing here. The way the manager handled this mistake was very disappointing as well.
I was super impressed with this CityMD location!! I was seen very quickly, the intake person at the front desk was efficient and helpful, and the PA and attendant who took my vitals were outstanding. I saw the PA called Alyssa and she was absolutely fantastic. I was very distressed because a piece of my hearing aid was stuck in my ear and everyone was very patient with me even though I was freaked out. Alyssa was very quick about getting it out quickly and being very reassuring. She is amazing. I love this location!! I highly recommend it!
Dr. Sun genuinely made me feel worse. He has the worst bedside manner of any provider I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was retraumatized from an encounter with a car and he had absolutely no regard for how shaken up I was. The front desk staff was kind but Sun was absolutely awful.
Honestly not sure why the reviews are so bad… made me skeptical as well. I sprained my ankle badly playing basketball and wanted to get it checked out. Minimal wait time and all in all took about 30 minutes. Got a couple x rays and a helpful explanation from the doctor who referred me to a specialist for a small fracture. Price of all this honestly came in under what I was expecting as well. Would recommend if in need of urgent care + x rays.
