I had a great experience with both Dr. Joodi and Dr. Park.
Dr. Joodi did my root canal re treatment was incredibly thorough and kind during the whole procedure. While it’s not the most fun I had in a dentist chair it was the best I could have hoped for.
Dr Park was also thorough and got me in for 2 crown replacements in the same day.
The hygienists here are so nice, and they're the reason I'd been going here for so long. However, beware if you need anything more extensive than a routine cleaning. I have a cavity in my back molar, and was told I need a root canal and crown. After my appointment, I was made to wait in their lobby for 45 minutes to be seen by their insurance person—just for them to tell me that my root canal would NOT be covered because their office decided they don't work with my insurance for root canals anymore and quoted me for $6,000 (note that my insurance DOES cover root canals at other places??). After reading other reviews, I'm leery now that this company tries to scam and up-charge folks on purpose. Get a second opinion!!! I'll now be taking my business elsewhere. Shoutout to Theresa Ramsay my hygenist though. A true gem of a human being who always was so warm and non-judgmental and made me not completely hate getting my teeth cleaned. It's a shame I can't see her anymore!
If you use this practice come prepared to be remarkably diligent with every single charge and “upgrade.” The facility is sparkling new and the medical care is great— I needed a root canal redo that I wouldn’t have known was necessary without the 3d scan (which is exorbitant at $500, but considering the boutique atmosphere I wasn’t surprised). This practice has the most aggressive predatory billing and I imagine so many people are getting overcharged. When I called my insurance they even suggested going elsewhere but given the nature of switching, I just wanted the work done and for this practice to be held to their contract. They made up billing codes when there were applicable ones for my very straight forward procedures— like putting on a crown after my root canal. Bring your lawyer skills and be prepared to push back because it took rounds of correspondence before everything was updated to code. I was guaranteed at my visit that the follow up would be properly handled. I was delighted when I checked in and paid and it was. Until I got home and was resting recovering and got an urgent call that I owed double. The insistence was absurd and after disputing the charges do five minutes she finally reviewed the email exchanged and apologized and hung up. But that’s okay because the next day I awoke to find a letter from my insurance that said they tried to bill the insurance twice for the same procedures.
It’s a mess. But in terms of the work, and in terms of the care I received from the endo and dentist (and amazing dental assistants) I will continue with this practice this year. But I also won’t be surprised if they get audited for fraud if this continues.
After nearly a year as a patient, I can confidently say this clinic delivers exceptional service backed by a warm, professional team. They’re transparent about pricing and work with most insurance providers, which makes the experience stress-free from the start.
I had a cleaning today, and dental hygienist Theresa was absolutely outstanding — efficient, gentle, and thorough. The entire appointment went seamlessly from start to finish. Highly recommended!
I had a great experience at Expert Dental! The office is clean and welcoming, and the front desk staff was very helpful in fitting us in last minute. I felt completely at ease letting my kids go in while I relaxed in their comfortable waiting area.
The dentist and hygienist were patient and thorough, taking the time to explain to my kids how to take care of their teeth. The cleaning was meticulous, and my kids said their teeth felt super clean.
They accepted a wide range of insurances. The clinic is conveniently located by Stuyvesant High School. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional dental experience!
