The classes are nice and the instructor is really knowledgeable! she is into politics a bit too much and the class can get awkward sometimes. Other than that, you can learn a lot and there are many classes to accommodate your schedule.
I have been studying Korean with the Korean Culture Center for about two years. I was very excited to find an affordable, online place to study Korean. I am not near a large Korean community, so it is very helpful to connect through KCCNYC's classes online. The teachers are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful an encourage you during your language-learning process. I highly recommend Korean Culture Center to anyone wanting to learn Korean. The monthly book club has also been engaging and very interesting
Came for the classes (informative, affordable, easily accessible), stayed for the community (meeting incredible authors at book club, jjajangmyeon and makgeolli after a group outing to the noraebang). Still on the language learning journey in KCC classes, but Eun and Priscilla have made it so fun to be part of the group along the way.
I have been attending Korean language and culture classes remotely for about a year now and have learned much more than I expected in that time frame. I started out knowing absolutely nothing so was grateful to be able to choose classes that suited my pace. I love the format in which each class is taught and very much appreciate the way complimentary classes are designed to support learning. I find the discussions on culture to be fascinating and educational. KCCNY has been a wonderful venue for learning something new and meeting new and wonderful people. It is such a great community. I'm grateful to be able to participate even if it's from a distance.
I love taking classes here. There are so many choices of levels and times and days. The teachers are so supportive and never make you feel shy or embarrassed. I love that if I cannot make my normal class I can attend another session so I don't miss out. I also love that there's a sense of community, with in-person and virtual events, including a monthly book club.
