Chris G has been an excellent music teacher for our 7-year old daughter. I am regularly struck by how well he communicates to our daughter and explains music concepts and ideas, and demonstrates and guides her. Chris does so in a way which she clearly finds engaging and motivating. He is also very patient, kind and gentle with her. We hope to continue lessons with Chris in the future.
has been a wonderful and patient teacher for our 6-7 yr old daughter
My kids have worked with Andrew, who started Musicolor Method, for twelve years. His enthusiasm for music and his love of teaching is unmatched. This might be why my kids never asked to quit piano, as most eventually do! Somehow Andrew makes the work all about joy—a life lesson if there ever was one—and meets each kid exactly where they are. His patience and attentiveness to my kids, coupled with his expertise and sunny personality, seems to have seeped out into his whole new school of teachers. If he’s leading by example, this will continue to be one fantastic team!
This is such a wonderful program! We started piano lessons 2 years ago and our child is still so happy and continues having fun learning. We had a new teacher this season and they do such a great job matching instructors with each child's needs and learning styles. Great communication across the board.
Our family has gotten in deep with Musicolor- first my 12-y.o. son started piano lessons, then his 8-y.o. brother wanted in on the action, and then their Dad (me) decided to try his hand. Our instructors have been personable and informative working musicians who really tailor the instruction to the student- it's notable that three guys with very different temperament have all been making steady progress. The fact that instruction can happen in our home makes the scheduling for busy kids that much easier.
My daughter has been taking piano at Park Slope Music Lessons for the past five years. That in itself is a testament to how much she enjoys the lessons. Her teacher, Andrew, is adept at striking a balance between learning and having fun. He really knows how to engage and connect with his students. He is full of encouragement, endlessly patient, and clearly passionate about music. My daughter's piano skills have flourished along with her self confidence in public performance through the school's twice yearly recitals. We feel lucky to have found such a wonderful teacher and highly recommend Park Slope Music Lessons.
