In the past year of my piano studies with Masako Yokouchi, my proficiency has taken a huge leap forward. She is such an inspiring, creative teacher and has crafted a really wonderful approach for me that involves fun (and challenging) pieces to explore, theory, and biomechanics. Learning an instrument can be a humbling affair but Masako brings a delightful mix of positivity and rigor to each lesson. It's my favorite hour of the week!
We can’t recommend Brad Crossland enough. My son started piano with Brad from zero, and over the past year we’ve seen steady, real progress thanks to Brad’s thoughtful and professional teaching style.
Brad is clearly passionate about both music and teaching, and he truly understands how kids think and learn. He’s calm, patient, and encouraging, and he respects each child’s individual personality. He takes the time to meet both students and parents where they are and does his best to adapt lessons to fit everyone’s needs, which we really appreciate.
Brad is also a formally trained drummer and percussionist, and he recently started introducing my son to the drums. Under his guidance, my son picked it up very quickly. The lessons are creative, relaxed, and effective, and it’s been wonderful to see how confident and excited my son has become — he’s completely fallen in love with drumming.
We also really appreciate Riverside Music Studio. They have an excellent network of talented, passionate, and professional teachers across different instruments. The studio is always well organized, communicates smoothly and promptly with parents, and does a great job matching kids with the right teacher. They’re very easy to work with, and we’ve felt well supported every step of the way.
We feel very lucky to be part of the Riverside community and are looking forward to many more years ahead.
I never thought it will be us but my kid is always happy and looks forward to each session. The teachers are caring, professional, and make every class an amazing experience. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Our teacher Mr. Braam is not only an accomplished pianist but also a passionate music educator. He shows patience and support to my son who looks forward to his lessons.
The school gives us an opportunity to perform at recitals which is invaluable experience for young students.
I've been taking piano lessons at Riverside music studios for almost 2 years, and it's been a great experience! I came in as a total beginner and Dmitri has guided me through learning complex classical music pieces that allowed me to learn at my own pace.
He's also hosted recitals for students to show off what they have been learning, which have been super rewarding! I definitely recommend Riverside to anyone interested in learning music at any skill level!
