Extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, exploitative experience.
Home Pro Medical Equipment charged us $3,425 for a Protekt Aire 9900 42-inch mattress with pump, which I later found was nearly double the pricing available elsewhere for the same or comparable equipment. This was not a casual purchase - this was for my father during an urgent end-of-life medical situation, when families are vulnerable and trying to do the right thing quickly.
When I raised the issue, the best they offered was a $250 refund, which felt insulting given the size of the markup. I understand medical equipment companies need to make a profit, but this felt excessive and unfair, especially given the circumstances.
Families dealing with sick or dying loved ones should not have to wonder whether they are being taken advantage of. I strongly recommend checking pricing elsewhere before buying from this company.
I was in urgent need of a reclining wheelchair for a family friend who was leaving the country within 24 hours. After calling over 10 locations in the tri-state area , I came across Daniel with Homepro Medical Supplies. Daniel was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable. Luckily, they had exactly what we needed in their warehouse so needless to say, my search was successful. However, I’m truly grateful and appreciative of Daniel’s exceptional customer service. Highly recommend!
I recently hosted my mom at my apartment while she recovered from surgery, and I was able to get pretty much everything we needed (bath tub safety handle, bath mat, transfer bench...) in advance from Homepro Medical Supplies. We also rented a recliner chair for the month, which was super comfortable and absolutely clutch for recovering post-op, along with a tall "hip chair". Delivery and pickup were smooth & easy (especially notable since the rental chairs were delivered just after the Feb snowstorm!), and everyone I spoke to was kind, helpful and professional. It made the whole thing less stressful and more comfortable. I couldn't be more appreciative.
I called looking for a Tilt-in-Space wheelchair. Holding them in stock is apparently not a good use of space for most companies (some local suppliers didn't even know what a Tilt-in-Space wheelchair is), but I spoke with Daniel at Homepro. He both very knowledgeable and amazingly helpful. I'm happy to recommend Homepro at every opportunity.
I cannot say enough good things about David and the team at Homepro Medical Supplies. I left a panicked voicemail at 6 a.m. on a holiday weekend, desperate for a hospital bed so we could bring our loved one home from the ER. Not only did David respond promptly — the bed was delivered and set up by 1 p.m. the same day. Absolute miracle.
Our mom was stuck in a hallway at the hospital, stressed and in pain, and we truly could not have brought her home without Homepro’s help. David's responsiveness, compassion, and efficiency made all the difference during one of the most difficult moments our family has faced. We are so incredibly grateful.
