We love MMA! Our son started in kindergarten and is now in 3rd grade, still happily going to classes 3 days a week (plus summer camp and Parents’ Night Out). It’s the only activity he’s wanted to stick with year-round. The staff and instructors are excellent, and the program has helped build his work ethic, confidence, and physical fitness in such a positive way.
I am a brown belt and the school is nice with the instructors being Mr Flanagan,Mr Day, Mr Paul and more.
Michael Flanighan at Modern Martial Arts has been one of the most positive influences in my children’s lives. He’s an outstanding martial arts instructor and my kids have grown tremendously in their skills, technique, and confidence and not to mention their affection for him. But what truly sets him apart is what he teaches beyond the mat: discipline, respect, focus, perseverance, and accountability.
He has a rare ability to connect with kids—firm when he needs to be, encouraging always, and genuinely invested in their growth. My children look forward to class, and I’ve watched the lessons carry over into everyday life: better listening, stronger self-control, and a real sense of pride in doing things the right way.
If you’re looking for a place where your child will learn real martial arts and the life values that help them mature into strong, respectful young people, Mr. Flanighan at Modern Martial Arts is the best decision you can make.
An amazing program for kids that brings such value to their lives. My older son took martial arts here for years and also loved their summer camps. Now my daughters are starting to participate and they love it. The staff is amazing - they care tremendously and are wonderful teaching kids.
Our son has a yellow belt and other than discipline, respect and compassion he has learned some great skills. Even though they’re 3-4 years old this is not one of those classes where they just learn some basics and stand still.. Mr. Burgos and Mr. Perez are always doing their best at teaching these kids new skills that they will need, all their life basically.
Great staff and easy to work with. Mary is always hands on and happy to answer any questions or whatever you need help with.
Great vibe, we are always talking about this place and how much are son loves it. He’s asked to have his birthday party here so all his friends can see how good he’s at martial arts.
