Probably the worst of the market place insurances that I had. It doesn't really cover much even with high premiums. I pay a very high premium, got furloughed and applied for unemployment. Had to go to the Doctor and had a shock about what I had to pay for my procedure. Then I get another bill afterwards saying I own much more to the hospital because Insurance wouldn't pay the rest. It's the first time I used it. Well- they wiped out my savings and now I can't afford their premium so I will have to cut off my insurance. Failure of insurance. It really doesn't give you any insurance eve in your hardest times. They are more a liability and stress than insurance for hard health moments.
You can get your Healthfirst insurance renewed here and check on pre authorization status. The lady with surname Wang and Jason, the one with glasses is really friendly. They speak English, Cantonese, and Fujianese. Really fast to get seated after telling the front desk what you needed help with.
It was supposed to be a help first member appreciation Day from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. today. Was located on 29 East Broadway in Manhattan that's in the Chinatown section. I pedaled my bike up far distance to get there I got there maybe an hour late. But I figured this was not a problem because it was a afternoon event that was supposed to be on going. As advertised on the website that was supposed to be food and games and giveaways etc. When I got there it was a small office building (I thought it was going to be held in like a schoolyard or a park). I stood behind another woman for a few minutes while two older Asian women only speaking Chinese were making bracelets for two other Chinese speaking women. Not one of them looked up or gave us any attention. It wasn't until the Caucasian lady asked why I was there and I explained to her that I had rsvp'd my email for the event. And she said okay she said go on in and let them know that you're here for the seminar. Seminar? In my mind I'm like I didn't come here for a seminar I came here to enjoy myself but I digress. I go in already Thursday and hungry from riding my bike so far. And I'm greeted by an Asian man who tells me that everything is going for the day! There was no food no snacks no gifts no nothing. Then he directs me to another event that was going to happen next Monday at a different location in the Chinatown area. I was disappointed to say the least because I've been a help first member for 25 years and all my children are helpless members as well. It would have been nice to actually have a day where the clients were celebrated in a fun and up building way. Now I don't want to sound biased but I live in the lower East side which is a melting pot of cultures. I am an African American woman and what I have noticed many times when it comes to the Asian people in my community is that they look out for each other. And not so much in a good way but I mean by this is that they tend to be very greedy. The whole lines for each other at free food events or anytime there's anything free they tend to overtake the situation. I'm pretty sure that that's what happened at this event it was held in Chinatown it was conducted by Chinese people and they look out for their own and they allow them to come and take everything until there was nothing left. I guarantee you there was no one there to check to see if each person who entered the building was actually on a list like I was. It was sad but you live and you learn I will not be attending anything like this again. I'll just appreciate myself for being healthy.

Just terrible front desk person. Very rude and unprofessional
