For Truckers beginners -- DO NOT GO AS GOOGLE SHOWS U ! U CANOT GO THROUGH MANHATTAN ! ULL GET STUCK THERE
Take i287 - Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, than take exit # 21 - to 3rd ave , and than drive all the way to 19th street . On 19th street Take WIDE LEFT TURN !
Attention --- DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS Navigation , because ull be under i287 on 3rd ave , and navigator doesnt understand that !
Also do not go to Exact Adress , because loading dock are behind Restaurant Depot building, they are on 19str , just before Home Depot building .
Best suggestions for u --- Be here after 10-11pm , because on morning time that place becomes MESS . NO PARKING LOTS , ONCOMING TRAFFIC, NYC residents forgot what is respect and patience .
At night u can find overnight parking spots for 5-7 trucks just on 19str . Be careful its dead end street , no chance to turn around in the end of 19str , u have to use these loading docks for it
My app time 6am
I checked in 5:50 am , they told me write down my phone number with words " We start unloading at 7am "
7:37 some lady gave me door
It took around 40-45 minutes to back in the dock . I had to wait their local driver , he did some trailer movements and a lot of trucks r just blocking each other
8:50 am got empty and paperwork.
Looks like they got list of appointme , and they trying care about it , but infrastructure around doesn't let them do it quicker
This place is great and has a wide variety of options, I came in the other day shopping as a usually do, this time it was different, I had a loaded cart full of food and products, I step away from my cart for a few minutes and when I come back it’s gone, all that work I did to put together the cart and it’s all gone, roamed around the entire department and nothing, it seems like they just put your things back without even asking or giving the courtesy or waiting to see if it was anyone’s items. Ruined the entire experience that day.
I called to ask a question & the person on the phone gave me an answer that I asked a follow up question about so they can get a better understanding of what I need. Then another lady abruptly interrupted & stated she is taking over the call & what’s my question. It was very passive aggressive. She kept cutting me off when I was speaking & couldn’t get my full question out. She was speaking to reply without fully listening. Then she started calling the butcher & said “let’s see what he says”. I’m just trying to get an answer it wasn’t a competition on who is right.
Great place to buy stuff for your deli, store, restaurant. All is in big sizes and very good prices. They have even the most basic things for your restaurant for example chairs, cooking equipment, tables. And for stores they have the best prices for drinks , chips, food and beverages.
This place does the job. It is accessible, had what you need most of the time. Not everything is priced @ wholesale so you really need to be keen on what you are buying. Fresh produce is generally a good buy but other wholesale items don't necessarily beat Costco or other distributors. You can probably count the number of organic items on one hand. get there when it opens or you will wait on VERY long lines.
