Great yoga classes and a nice clean studio. The teachers explain very well and classes feel like you did a comprehensive work out in an hour. Bonus - there are showers in the changing room so you can shower and change before continuing your day (and I wish there was one more shower stall).
I've been practicing at the West Village studio on and off for nearly 10 years, dating back to when it was Modo Yoga, and it's always been a place I find myself returning to. There’s something special about the energy here that keeps drawing me back. The space is welcoming, calming, and thoughtfully designed. From the front desk staff to the instructors, everyone creates an environment that feels supportive and inclusive. The teachers are consistently excellent, each bringing their own unique style while maintaining the same level of care, knowledge, and attention to students. No matter how long it's been since my last class, I always leave feeling stronger, more grounded, and more connected to myself. Over the years, this studio has been a constant in my wellness journey, and I'm incredibly grateful for the community they've built. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a yoga studio that feels both challenging and welcoming.
Alma Yoga is an absolute gem of a studio. Serene, peaceful, and an energetic oasis just south of Bryant Park. Tucked in an unassuming building, up 5 flights of stairs. I visited as a first-time walk in (arriving in a less than pleasant mood, with the intention to force myself to work out since I hadn’t made time to all week). As class started with breathwork and a restorative pose set up I realized this was a Yin class - not what I had been expecting, but exactly what I needed. By the end of class I felt completely as ease, and notably, with much more love and appreciation for my body. Grounded and present. The instructor, Sophie, was lovely, and the owner Rosanna is kind, gently welcoming and warm. Plus, one more note! I’m a big texture girl, and have to comment on the smooth, soothing finish of Alma’s studio yoga mats, and the soft & comforting touch of their organic cotton blankets. It’s clear that this studio was built with care. I’m so glad to have stumbled in, and hope Alma Yoga continues to thrive. Happy 1 Year, Alma - and go check them out NY!
I LOVE Vera!!! Their strength class is perfection! Similar but WAY better than CorePower It gets really hot in there in the best way, and the instructors are all great
So friendly. My first class went really well. Gracie was helpful, calm, and was great with verbal instructions. Classes are small with lots of personal attention.
